Date: 2023-07-18
On the afternoon of July 17th, the independent hotel brand Preferred Hotels&Resorts held a press conference in Beijing, announcing a series of strategic measures for the Chinese market. From various aspects such as China's market development positioning, China's outbound tourism market promotion, I Prefer loyalty program, and WeChat mini program booking, in 2023, when cross-border tourism is fully returned, Pufuteng will make efforts to restart the independent hotel market in China on both the industry and consumer sides. At the event, Pufu Teng announced the launch of the annual market promotion focused on China - "The World Awaits You", allowing Chinese I Preferred members and consumers to explore global member hotels through Pufu Teng's platform while enjoying more discounts and privileges.
Pu Futeng Hotels and Resorts represent over 650 excellent hotels, resorts, and apartments in over 80 countries and regions. Adhering to the brand commitment of "believe in travel", Pu Futeng has actively expanded the global independent hotel landscape. From 2020 to now, Pu Futeng has added 162 new member hotels in the world, including three high-profile luxury hotels in the Great Bay Area of China - Hong Kong Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel, Macao Wynn and Wynn Palace. Among them, both Yongli hotels are part of the Luxury Legend series under the Pufuteng brand. The addition of two Wynn companies is also the first appearance of Pu Futeng in the Macau region of China.
Our global development team continuously explores the best independent hotels in the world and presents them to global travelers through the platform of Pufu Teng. China, as a key market for Pufu Teng's exploration and investment in global strategic layout, has always been a key market for Pufu Teng. "Jonathan Newbury, Executive Vice President of Pufu Teng Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific, said of the Chinese market. "At present, we have 11 member hotels in 6 cities and regions in China. With the arrival of the era of independent hotels and soft brands in the Chinese market, Pufuteng will adjust its market development positioning in China, focusing on the development of luxury independent hotel markets in first tier cities, Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and new first tier cities. In the next three years, 20 member hotels will be added in China."
The hotel loyalty program I Prefer under the group has over 4.5 million members and is the world's largest independent hotel point based membership program. As a global strategic focus of Pufu Teng in 2023, the group launched a new I Prefer website and mobile applications in April this year, comprehensively upgrading the I Prefer user experience through optimization of the operating interface and functions. In the second half of this year, the Preferredhotels Chinese website will complete the system integration with I Prefer and upgrade the booking engine in Chinese. At that time, it will significantly improve the user experience of I Preferred membership registration, booking, and point redemption in China, laying the foundation for better development of the Chinese outbound tourism market.
